Former NFL player’s plan to pay medical bills to the tune of $200,000 is ‘all just a dream’

A former NFL player has announced plans to pay for his medical treatment, and the goal is “all just the dream,” ESPN reported on Friday.

Michael Sam is facing a number of lawsuits from his former team over allegations that he failed to disclose medical problems in his pre-draft medical history.

Sam’s lawyers say the allegations are baseless and his case is over.

In a court filing filed last week, attorneys for Sam’s former teammates and former team doctor, Dr. John Davenport, said the former player and his wife “are seeking to reimburse the NFL for medical expenses, including for the cost of medical treatment provided by their physician to Sam and his family.”

The NFLPA, which represents the former players, declined to comment on the lawsuit.
